Japan-Expert Program Off-Campus Training in 2023

In January 2024, we held the Japan-Expert Program Off-Campus Training Program for Academic Year 2023.

A total of 14 participants, including Japan-Expert Program students, students studying Japanese language and culture, tutors, and faculty members, joined together for this joint off-campus training program,
This was a joint off-campus training program.

This year, we took a bus tour to “Boso no Mura” and “National Museum of Japanese History” in Chiba Prefecture.

In the morning, we visited Boso no Mura and had a hands-on experience of making magatama (Japanese traditional ornamental beads).

It took about an hour and a half to carve, polish, and complete my own glue stone (wax stone).

After that, we each walked around the facilities until our stay time.

In the merchant neighborhood, some students had lunch at a soba restaurant.

In the afternoon, we took a bus to the “National Museum of Japanese History”.

The museum has exhibition rooms 1 through 6, each with exhibits ranging from prehistory and antiquity to the present day.
There were also models and stuffed animals, all of which were worth seeing until the very end of our stay,
We enjoyed looking at and studying the exhibits until the very end of our stay.
